If you have a client who loves to cook, then check out the Cheeky Charlie outdoor charcoal oven.
Charlie is billed as being a charcoal oven, smoker, pizza oven, grill, bread oven and barbecue all in one, as well as being a design icon. The Charlie oven is produced in two grades: commercial and home outdoor kitchen.
Available in a palette of ten colours, all inspired by food ingredients from around the world, from Middle Eastern saffron to sophisticated Porcini mushrooms, Charlie also makes a striking garden design statement.
The oven has a neat footprint of only 61cm wide by 70cm deep and is 180cm tall. Made in Britain from stainless steel, the Charlie oven is said to use 45% less fuel than an open grill.
The temperature can be set and held at 100C for low and slow cooking or smoking, or it can be cranked up to 400C for fast searing of meat or producing amazing pizzas, or anywhere in between. Serious cooks will love its nine cooking heights with each of the racks holding a full-size catering oven tray. This flexibility allows the user to cook with direct heat (close to the charcoal) or indirect heat (further up in the oven) at the same time.
Easy to light and low maintenance, the Charlie oven is designed for all cooking to be done with the door shut, so the chef can be totally hands-off. Charlie operates differently to an open barbecue grill as its heat is nearly all retained in the oven, meaning it can cook for many hours on only a small load of charcoal. Cooking heat is conserved by the thermal mass of the steel and its built-in ceramic thermal blanket.
Although there is currently no Australian distributor, the product can be ordered directly and shipped to Australia.
