Atelier kitchen by Abimis

The Atelier kitchen by Abimis creates the perfect domestic set-up for a chef from Campania in this private residence located in Milan.

The kitchen is located within a completely renovated elegant apartment, inside a 1970s building located in the central district of Porta Venezia in Milan. The space housing the kitchen, adjacent to the living area, is bright, welcoming and tidy, all contributing to a sense of calm and comfort.

Abimis-atelier-kitchen-milanFully customisable, the Atelier kitchen was made-to-measure in order to satisfy the requirements and wishes of the owner, a young chef and her family. It was important that the bespoke solution combine the performance of a professional kitchen with the ambiance of a domestic kitchen.

Abimis-atelier-kitchen-milanThe kitchen is constructed from orbitally hand-polished AISI 304 stainless steel in order to provide a surface that reduces the visibility of scratches and fingerprints and gives the kitchen a warm, almost silky, feel. The design encompasses three zones to ensure maximum functionality.

Abimis-atelier-kitchen-milanThe first zone is located against the wall with a large cooking and cleaning zone that features a steel top, splash back and rangehood set flush to the ceiling.

Abimis-atelier-kitchen-milanThe central zone, sitting below the spectacular helical staircase, comprises a large island, also made from orbitally-polished steel, that has a dual operational and social function. On one side of the island are large drawers, a container compartment, an oven and spacious worktop. The worktop is fabricated with no joins in order to make it practical and hygienic – and this extends to create a snack bar on the other side.

Abimis-atelier-kitchen-milanThe third, and final, zone is a large block of columns – also in orbitally-polished steel – with brass handles for the oven, fridges, cupboards and professional wine cellar.

Abimis-atelier-kitchen-milanThe Atelier kitchen by Abimis is created as an expression of multi-functional living, allowing for the needs of a chef’s private kitchen but with a homely character that enhances the family’s social life.
