CTO Lighting brings us its 2023 lighting trends which they say is all about more naturalistic interiors, as we invite the natural world into our homes.
Bringing the outside in and blending the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living spaces can be achieved in multiple ways, from using colours and form to indoor gardens and living walls.
Drawing inspiration from nature and organic growth, the arms of IVY (above), like plants bending and taking shape towards the sunlight, reach out towards all corners of the room and cast a wide pool of ambient light. The result, a zoned space that connects us with nature and boosts our well-being. Available in three configurations, featuring 3, 4 or 8 glass shades and either a vertical or horizontal arrangement, the IVY Pendant offers options for a variety of uses and interiors.
There is a move away from harsher, cooler greys in favours of warmer hues of beige, brown and cream. These earthier tones, which are more rooted in nature, encourage serenity and invite calming habits. This quieter colour palette also acts as the perfect backdrop, showcasing beautifully crafted furniture and lighting.
Introduce curves and gentle forms to create a fluid, soft aesthetic, as with Nimbus (above). These classical shapes and sculptural silhouettes are timeless and help add a touch of femininity to sometimes harsh contemporary spaces.
The fritted glass, shallow dome of CIELO (above) is hand-formed by artisans to achieve a unique, crystal-like texture. The integrated LED light source is softly diffused by the elegant glass shade, providing a warm ambient glow.
Designed by Michael Verheyden, the LUCID collection (above) is inspired by Parisien Brasseries and snowdomes. Refined and unique, each light features a dome of honed alabaster that beautifully contrasts against the minimal brass or bronze metalwork. The LED emanates light from beneath the surface of the natural stone, highlighting the unique veining and casting a warm, ethereal glow.
