Eccetera is a flexible, versatile collection of accessories born from the collaboration between Quadrodesign and Maddalena Casadei.
The expertise of a company that has been producing stainless steel taps for over twenty years, meets the experience of Maddalena Casadei in designing with metals, the strengths and weaknesses of which she knows perfectly.
A project that expresses the synthesis of two similar visions, united by the same passion for research and love for noble materials. That is how Eccetera was born: starting from processing stainless and folding stainless steel plates, many accessories were developed. Some of the products within the collection are specific to the bathroom environment, others, such as coat hooks and shelves, more versatile from a design point of view thanks to the mono-material object.
Enrico Magistro, co-owner of Quadrodesign together with his sister Elena, accepted Maddalena Casadei’s invitation to study an accessories collection together. This because he was convinced that the designer, with her feminine and rigorous trait, would be an able interpreter of the spirit with which the company was founded. Able to synthesize the perception of a design company, for which tapware was one of its many declinations, while maintaining the focus on twenty years’ experience in the production of stainless steel products. The collaboration with Maddalena was precisely based on this principle: Eccetera is the stylistic solution to a common thought of company and designer.
So, the challenge was to use the metal sheet, a basic shape, and to work on the concept of geometric volumes: for example, the towel bars take on a three-dimensional level from the same cut and bent sheet and the detail of the curves obtained from a flat surface becomes the protagonist.
Functionality and cleanliness of the sign: an approach that cites rationalism in architecture from which the designer is fascinated, as from many objects, even anonymous ones with their details and finishes that mixed with experiences, dialogues and gestures originate the personal creative vision.
Bathroom and kitchen accessories are secondary elements but with a strong presence. The simpler and cleaner they are, the better. So little by little we have worked to lighten and dry the design of this collection until it becomes an architectural element.
