Earlier this year, at Interzum, Egger showed off its comprehensive range of matte surfaces and its holistic approach to this enduring trend in interior design.
Since their introduction in 2015, Egger’s matte PerfectSense surfaces have been popular and Egger now offers its matte lacquered PerfectSense surfaces on sustainable chipboard, together with matching laminates as well as edging.
With its PerfectSense Lacquered Chipboards in surface variant TM9 PerfectSense Smoothtouch Matt, Egger offers a sustainable alternative to matte foil products. Egger has improved the quality of the surface and the lacquer recipe to such an extent that the product has established itself as a successful alternative to lacquer laminate and foil products.
The PerfectSense Lacquered Chipboard with TM9 surface also stands out when it comes to sustainability. It consists of 78% wood from the circular economy, which includes recycling wood and sawmill by-products. At the end of its service life, the product can be completely recycled and used to produce new boards, unlike composite elements with thermoplastic foils.
Egger’s PerfectSense Lacquered Chipboard with its matte and textured surface variants TM12 PerfectSense Omnipore Matt and TM22 PerfectSense Deepskin Linear Matt provides a solution to fingerprint marks and the loss of woodgrain definition on dark decors. The matte lacquer finish and the resulting reduced reflection enhance the respective decor image of the wood reproduction and give it more depth of colour.
Egger received three awards this year at the Interzum Award 2023 ceremony for its portfolio of matte lacquered surfaces: the PerfectSense Lacquered Chipboards with TM9 surface received recognition for “High Product Quality” in the category “Neo Ecology”. The matte-lacquered, textured variants TM12 PerfectSense Omnipore Matt and TM22 PerfectSense Deepskin Linear Matt as well as the PerfectSense Feelwood Lacquered Boards with matte, synchronised surfaces also received recognition for “High Product Quality” in the Materials & Nature category.
Egger’s matte portfolio not only includes its matte lacquered surfaces, but is now also following the trend with a new development of its synchronised Feelwood textures, the ST40 Feelwood Oakgrain. This is a texture that picks up on and supports the trend of elegant, understated and matte wood effects, but still brings a certain depth to the feel.
