Designed by Nikita Bettoni, the Losanga tiles from De Castelli combine formal elegance with perfect craftsmanship to create a distinctive rhomboid design.
The Losanga mosaic features a two- or three-element arrangement that allows for complex patterns and creates a 3D optical illusion to the surface. Celebrating the essence of metal, Losanga (which is part of the company’s DeMosaic collection) interprets this material within an architectural context, giving rise to a rich palette of iridescent tones and deep colours.
Losanga further interprets material through the suggestion of ancient mural art by entering the architectural dimension to express itself in large surfaces as well. Ideal for both wall and floor installation, Losanga provides a highly distinctive form of artistic expression, enhanced by the elegance of rigorous geometric patterns, and made vibrant by continuously changing thickness and shapes.
De Castelli surfaces offer a completely new dimension in decoration, which eschew artifice, preferring instead to celebrate the essential nature of the material itself in its aesthetic and symbolic value.
The full poetic expressiveness of metal is revealed utilising three uniquely distinctive mediums crafted to meet different design needs. The modular solutions provided by DeTile enable designers and architects to specify these products for small scale projects, focusing on the quality of the finishes and the decorative impact of its rigorous geometric forms. DeMosaic brings an expression of ancient mosaic art within the realm of architectural expression, even over larger surface areas. And, thanks to the bespoke creations, DeSign frees any project from dimensional limitations, offering maximum compositional freedom.
Founded in 2003 by Albino Celato and heir to a long tradition in metal manufacturing, De Castelli is now internationally renowned for introducing design as a new language in a dialogue between crafting expertise and advanced technology. In addition to the furniture developed in collaboration with famous designers which contributed to establishing the brand, the company has developed new surface solutions that enhance the potential of metals, in an on-going effort of research and experimentation with metal finishes.
