VOLA KV1 and FS1

The first VOLA mixer tap was unveiled by Arne Jacobsen and VOLA owner Verner Overgaard in Denmark in 1968, and the original VOLA 111 mixer tap went on to become a cult classic.

The KV1 one-handle kitchen mixer and FS1 freestanding bath mixer with hand shower are two celebrated designs in the iconic VOLA lineup.

Designed by Arne Jacobsen to represent the perfect intersection of craft and technology, the KV1 was selected for the permanent collection at the MoMA in New York in 1974. With its subtle curves and precise junctions, the KV1 continues to bring timeless elegance and superior functionality to kitchens around the world.

Defined by its simple and striking form, the FS1 stands elegantly in the bathroom like a sculpture, adding a spa-like serenity to the space. A minimalist classic that speaks of wellness and relaxation, it sits effortlessly within a range of architectural styles, including mid-century abodes and uber-contemporary apartments.

VOLA KV1 and FS1 are available in 28 colours and finishes – including the 10 original shades VOLA first introduced in 1970, when coloured tapware was an unheard-of idea.

Each piece in the VOLA collection is based on a modular design system, offering infinite possibilities when it comes to customisation. Longevity is a priority – replacement parts are available for every product ever made, including ones purchased back in the 1960s.

From its earliest days, VOLA has put an emphasis on craftsmanship and handmade processes, so that every product coming out of the factory is finished to an exceptional level of detail. Traditional techniques like hand-polishing are used alongside modern machine tools to maintain high levels of quality and efficiency throughout the manufacturing process.

As Denmark has few natural resources, sustainability has been fundamental from the beginning, contributing to the minimalism and pure design focus the brand is known for. VOLA has always taken great pride in its environmental responsibilities, ensuring products last for generations, well beyond a standard life cycle. VOLA uses only the purest stainless steel and lead-free brass, and ensures 100% of the waste produced is recovered and recycled.

Water conservation is equally important to VOLA’s sustainability commitment. The relationship between water and wellness has always been at the core of VOLA design. Precision of controlled water flow, responsive control and the careful, silent blending of water and air create perfect bathing experiences.

VOLA KV1 and FS1 epitomise the enduring beauty and earth-friendly focus VOLA is known for – tapware made to be used and enjoyed for generations to come, while sitting kindly on the planet.
