Stunning Staron in Terrazzo Venezia creates not only a beautiful visual effect, it also allows for a grout and silicone-free finish under the window.
Traditional placement of the kitchen sink adjacent to a window is still commonplace in today’s modern homes – and for good reason. Who doesn’t enjoy the lovely ambiance created by the streaming of natural light into a home, a beautiful vista on which to gaze while cleaning up, or a useful way to keep an eye on children or pets? But often, the placement of a window near the sink necessitates the over-use of grout and silicone to cover joins and ensure the area is water-tight.
The freedom of Staron® Solid Surfaces means its advanced joining technology creates a seamless bench and splashback flow around the back of the cooking zone, up to the window, and extending to the overhead cabinets. This is a freedom unable to be achieved with natural stone or other engineered products which require joins to navigate a return.
In this example, designed by Kitchens by Kathie, the Staron Terrazzo Venezia features as both the benchtop and the splashback. It has also been used to create a stunning shelf detail as it flows past the sill and extends along the wall. There are no joins in this kitchen, ensuring the space is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also highly hygienic and low on maintenance.
In pairing the Staron Terrazzo Venezia with deep indigo cabinetry, the designer has created an excellent balance of colour and texture, accented by the warmth of timber elements. When the cabinet doors are opened, the Terrazzo Venezia provides additional workspace, but when closed it becomes a beautiful visual detail along the run of cabinets.
A notably silica-free product, Staron® Solid Surfaces can be fabricated with no joins and the surface can be refreshed or rejuvenated to keep it looking like new for the life of the kitchen, or repurposed or upcycled for other applications.
