As seen at the recent Salone Bagno, held as part of Salone del Mobile.Milano, both these units bring together iconic appeal and functionality within a minimalist, elegant silhouette.
DOTS.
Using the simple yet striking circular shape of the dot, Ludovica Serafini+Roberto Palomba have created an elegant heating accessory with a strong decorative ability that is also surprising in its functional solutions and explorations of comfort it can afford.
Made with the utmost precision using CNC machining, from a block of partially recycled and entirely recyclable aluminium, DOTS. is a heating object that adds sophistication and luxury to its intended surroundings, while remaining a practical and useful item in all seasons.
DOTS. provides wide compositional freedom for interior designers. It can be inserted as a single point on the wall or in multiple configurations, allowing for endless possibilities of expression. This versatility can be found both in the aesthetic appearance, thanks to the choice of 140 RAL colours in the Tubes colour chart, as well as the freedom with which the elements can be arranged, allowing designers to accommodate their creative whims without restrictions.
Special attention has also been paid to technical aspects of the design: the recessed part ensures maximum stability on the wall, an integrated device keeps the temperature constant to the touch and a switch accessory allows on-site operation.
JJ
JJ is aptly named as it represents the shape of the product, as the structure is seen from the side bringing together two horizontally-stacked “J” elements.
Ludovica Serafini+Roberto Palomba drew their inspiration from the vision of the American artist Donald Judd. Minimalist, elegant and with well-defined, clean-cut silhouettes, JJ is a heating accessory designed to elevate the bathroom routine to a spa-like experience.
When JJ is turned off, it becomes a shelf on which to store and organise towels or small bathroom essentials. A slit, which is either open or closed depending on the model, works as a towel rail.
The shelf is available in three sizes and power ratings and in various configurations to accommodate a variety of needs and cultural uses. The simple version is supplemented with models with an open or closed slot, on the left or right side. JJ is also available in a wide variety of colours including all the 140 shades in the Tubes colour chart, with the exception of glossy and wrinkled finishes.
JJ’s styling has also been painstakingly designed down to the smallest detail. The fluted surface and the final undulation of the horizontal part, devised by Ludovica Serafini+Roberto Palomba, make this heating object delightful to touch and soft and light on the eye, too.
Both DOTS. and JJ can be connected to the electrical system using any control device, including home automation. Alternatively, they can be connected to a Tubes wireless thermostat or via a new Tubes Wi-Fi thermostat for on/off operation and programming, even remotely.
