The concept of Aura and Astro, the two new freestanding sinks designed by Marco Piva for antoniolupi embody the fluidity of water – a natural element that changes its shape over time, a volume that moulds, transforms and recomposes itself to find a definitive image, liquefied but solidified at the same time.
Aura and Astro are bathroom freestanding sinks with a strong personality and a sculptural presence that define the hierarchy of the environment. Absolute totems that acquire further charm thanks to the possibility of backlighting the material, making it vibrant with light and reflections that spread throughout the space.
Astro
Astro is like an ice cube that slowly melts, an immaterial presence that contains, circumscribes and governs the strength of the purifying element where light plays an important role.
Its mould is generated by a stone falling from above by a powerful and concentrated force which “pushes” the material downwards according to an unprecedented geometry that becomes the stylistic signature of the project.
Aura
Aura’s perfect geometrical shape is “carved out” by the force of the water which, drop by drop, generates the lowering of the Aura basin. The organic shape develops seamlessly as it does for natural phenomenon.
Aura and Astro are made of Cristalmood, a material that combines technology and tradition. Due to the type of processing and the craftsmanship of the production, each product made of Cristalmood is unique and unrepeatable – two sinks will never be identical, except for slight differences in colour, size, and thickness.
Both Astro and Aura are equipped with LED lighting, available in 13 Cristalmood colours, with the drain being on the floor and the transparent opaque body containing the drain and siphon, hiding them from the outside view. Astro can be combined with a freestanding tap and allows the possibility to install a countertop tap on the surface.
