As seen at this year’s Fuorisalone, this is the stunning new K-Garden from Italian kitchen design company Ernestomeda.
Created by architect Giuseppe Bavuso, the company’s art director, K-Garden has been developed and designed to shape new locations for open-air socialisation, with an increasingly broad, international approach.
K-Garden is a design intended for those who embrace indoor and outdoor living; to underscore the art of open-air cooking, to rethink and restyle those places where people get together to share relaxation and eating experiences.
The new K-Garden collection is an evolution of the K-Lab project, a model with exquisite design and a technical soul which includes equipped work counters that denote an efficient, informal kitchen. In this version K-Garden retains the same characteristics but with the addition of multipurpose workstations comprising hobs, grills, BBQ and everything needed for outdoor cooking.
The project’s distinctive features are its high degree of customisation and the exceptional modularity of all its components. K-Garden consists of a series of free-standing open elements which can be combined and aligned to form real fully equipped islands, around which people can share the pleasures of outdoor eating.
All materials used in the project have been meticulously chosen not only to deal with the different weather conditions typical of outdoor areas but also to maintain perfect empathy with the kitchen’s natural surroundings, such as the use of wood which, suitably treated, gives the kitchen strength as well as an agreeably warm texture, tough, rustproof stainless steel (AISI316), and various kinds of stone, intrinsically in perfect harmony with the open air world.
The K-Garden model is grounded in the design philosophy shared by all Giuseppe Bavuso’s collections for Ernestomeda: in his projects, technology and impressive performance are always combined with exquisite, unique details which give kitchens the unmistakable homely warmth typical of a specific approach to design.
So K-Garden is not an outdoor product with a cold, impersonal spirit intended merely to provide the kitchen’s technical functions: it is a genuine furnishing system, which generates a mood and bestows personality on its location.
