As we head towards Christmas and the industry is screaming for decent tradies it’s worth taking time to acknowledge those apprentices who were winners at the recent HIA CSR NSW Housing Awards.
1st Year Apprentice Achievement Award

“Jack has taken an approach to his apprenticeship well beyond his years. From the day he had his interview here at HIA combined with the interview he had with his now Host Trainer, Jack has shown a great level of maturity and continues to take this same approach to each working day Jack’s Host is continually impressed with how much Jack is improving each working week and sees Jack as an integral asset to the business unit. Jack has received experience in – New homes, Renovations, Demolition and Earthworks” – HIA Judges.
2nd Year Apprentice Achievement Award

Winner: Harrison Muller

“Harrison most definitely has a bright future in the Construction Industry. The level of commitment, skill and responsibility he brings to his game, is second to none. This is Harrison’s second year running at being nominated for the NSW HIA Apprentice awards and he most certainly has earned it. His Host Trainer says ‘If every builder had a Harrison type like apprentice, the industry would most certainly be in safe hands’. Clearly Harrison’s Host Trainer already views him as a very capable site foreman and can only see his business improving whilst Harrison is a part of the company. Harrison has received experience in – New Homes, Underpinning, Formwork, Concreting, Renovations, Decking and Demolition” – HIA Judges.
3rd Year Apprentice Achievement Award

Host: Alex Noor from Noor Constructions
“When Cameron first started his apprenticeship, he was fortunate enough to be placed with one of HIA’s long term & highly respected host trainers Alex Noor. Alex’s tradesmen soon recognised that Cameron’s work ethic & attitude were what they required in an apprentice. He has now become an integral part of Noor constructions & deserves to be receiving his award today” – HIA Judges.
4th Year Apprentice Achievement Award

Winner: Scott Guy
Host: Andrew Johnson from Good Foundations
“Scott started and will finish with Andrew Johnson from Good Foundations. Scott excelled as an apprentice from his 1st months. He has always shown a huge appetite for learning and doing things correctly and well. He plans to get his builders licence after carpentry and plans to stay with current host to continue learning and get to supervisor role himself. Scott is
highly valued member of his team and is a deserving winner of the award” – HIA Judges.
