We see so much of design in every field, it’s why the word “unique” is bandied around so often. But we were taken by a couple of products that flew across the desk this week, went looking for more, and really caught the eye of the TKKB team.
This innovative Rotator bath and shower was the first. The shell when rotated upward can be used as a shower. With a full rotation the cleverly designed shape can be filled as a bathtub. A further rotation can empty the bath onto the floor drain. This shower bath is the brainchild of designer and architect Ron Arad. It’s gorgeous with simple lines and a space saving nature. The innovation in this bathroom product has been envigorated by a virtually stagnant area of the house. Arad was trained in Jerusalem and London and for many years he was Head of Design at the Products Department of the Royal College of Art. His work is stunning, featuring bold furniture and striking architecture. The rotator has been designed for the Italian manufacturer Teuco.
Secondly, if you want to add something lively and interesting into a bathroom, then maybe you should take a look at this unique bathroom sink designed by Ricardo Antonio. Called the Foglio toilet basin this design was created for Brascor Countertops of Brazil and was constructed of Corian – great lines, certainly original and will always have attention drawn to it.
Last but not least, a basin from Art Ceram, comparable to a massive coffee cup is charmingly fitted to intention, by having an integrated towel rail in the ‘handle’; this item speaks by itself, so team with simple surroundings along with a simple walls mounted faucet. Some of you may have seen the ‘cow’ series at the International Bathroom Fair in Milan in 2012, a product which provides a herd of 4 legged friends for the wash space, the quirky form comes in striking black, or even true farm yard lovers may go the entire hog with zany cow print.
If you’ve come across a unique bathroom product let us know – and by the way, we’ve seen the shoe bath!!
