As we head to our first day at Interzum, we thought it might be interesting to bring you an overview of the show and what we are expecting to see.
Interzum will be held from 13-16 May in Cologne. Each day the show is open from 9am till 6pm.
This year, the show is boasting more international exhibitors than every before with almost three-quarters of the 1,500 exhibitors come from overseas. The organisers are expecting more than 50,000 visitors to come through its doors over the 4 days. Taking up an amazing 10 halls, the show covers more than 155,0000 square metres.
Exhibitors are many and varied with representatives across the fields of materials, components, machinery and textiles. Space was in such high demand this year that an additional hall was added to include all who wished to attend. This is in stark contrast to last year’s Eurocucina event which saw a drop in exhibitor numbers and stand space.
Interzum is well laid-out with the three product segments – Materials & Nature, Function & Components, and Textiles & Machinery in separate piazza areas making it easy for visitors to focus on their area of special interest. In addition, this year has seen the inclusion of a “red line” which will apparently make it easier for visitors to navigate the large space without becoming lost. We’re betting the Aussies will buck the trend and (deliberately) swim against the tide.
So we’re off. Much more to come and hopefully a fabulous selection of incredible new products and innovative ideas. Stay tuned!!
