New from German company Acrylic Couture comes a range of acrylic glass surfaces which create incredible visual effects through a combination of inlays and artistic colour combinations. When combined with LED technology, it’s possible to achieve intensely radiant effects to create additional shine, play on light and shade, and affect mood.
This range of products won a “Best of the Best” for Intelligent Material & Design at the Interzum design awards 2013.
Cancello
Fine metal lines create countless wave-like structures while light reflections provide additional depth that deceives the eye. The organic flow of the texture is balanced by the evenness of the external surface. Cancello is available in Copper (pictured), Gold and Silver.
Cangiante
Another metal-based design, Cangiante features interlaced and woven details with folds within the tissue of the surface to produce an incredible three-dimensional effect. The combination produces the appearance of movement and softeness. Cangiante is available in Copper, Silver and Red/Silver (pictured).
Etoile
The distinguishing characteristic of this collection is the filigree structure within the material together with the dazzling shimmer created on the surface. The translucent material works with the sweeping fabric to create a impression of depth and beauty. Etoile is available in Blue (pictured), Silver, Copper and Dark Brown.
Zendado
Zendado plays on the interconnection of light and shade to create a luxurious metallic finish. The end result is an understated elegance that sits visually in the background with its perfectly symmetrical design working well in a number of classic and timeless environments. Zendado is available in Red (pictured), Gold and Copper.
Fiocchi
These apparently-weightless metal flakes float within the acrylic glass and have been likened to minuature rock formations or small mountains. Captured in crystal-clear acrylic or transparently-tinted acrylic glass, each reveals a multitude of shimmering landscapes within the material. Fiocchi is available in Copper, Gold, Silver and Gold in Brown Acrylic Glass (pictured).
Malachite
Strong colour compositions matched with fluffy textures and delicate silhouettes form the essence of the Malachite collection. Deep contrasts create impresive contours while bold colours makes this a surface range to stand out from the crowd. Malachite is available in Blue, Yellow, Red, Green (pictured) and Black.
Vento
Last is Vento – my absolute favourite of all these collections. Stunningly delicate, the feathers are frozen for all time within the confines of the acrylic glass and appear to float in space. Glamorous, visually engaging, delicate, soft, touchable – Vento is only available in the feather finish but I’d argue no others are needed.
