Italian specialist brand Smeg has introduced a high-powered rangehood specifically designed for those who love to stir fry, sear, boil pasta or cook on a griddle or teppanyaki plate.
The SHC965X is a high-powered, concealed undermount rangehood that will remove large quantities of smoke, fumes and grease-laden air from the kitchen making the space more comfortable in which to work as well as protecting surfaces.
The SHC965X is designed to be installed within a wall mounted cabinet so it is completely concealed from view. Yet it will quietly and efficiently remove up to 1600 cubic metres of air an hour at a minimal noise level – between 55 and 75dBA depending on the speed. The stainless steel SHC965X features two 250W centrifugal motors with three speeds, three metal baffle filters (that can be washed in the dishwasher) and optional charcoal filters.
It is 965mm wide and can either be ducted to the atmosphere – recommended by the manufacturer – or recirculated. For shadow-free cooking there are three 50W halogen globes. The SHC965X is the perfect foil to high heat cooking where grease and oil laden fumes, odours, smoke and steam diminish the comfort level within the kitchen and also have a deleterious effect on the surfaces of the kitchen.
