Eurolinx’s Sydney Showroom Opening

Whilst one appliance brand had an official function in Victoria that ended in burnt display cabinets and a rapid use of various fire fighting appliances, no such drama unfolded at the official opening of Eurolinx’s new showroom in the Inner Western Sydney suburb of Leichhardt. Managing Director Jamey Colbert thanked everyone for showing up in wet and wild weather welcoming about 120 guests to the renovated array of displays, tastefully designed by duo Lucy Tweed and Jane Frosh of Cool Edie’s.

Eurolinx, founded in 1984 by Damien Colbert, now have three brands to distribute, with Ilve and De Dietrich being the main two. However whilst Ilve continues to be one of the main brands across the country in many quality appliance retailers, Di Dietrich (the inventors of induction cooking) don’t have a foothold on the Sydney market place. Mark Swan, Di Dietrich National Sales Manager (formerly of V-Zug) says it’s “a case of wait and see” as to when that happens.

The Di Dietrich brand has some impressive products – the latest, part of the evening’s event, is the “Jewels in the Kitchen” range boasting distinctly sleek aesthetics with some very advanced zone less induction cooktops. Given the apparent surge in high end refrigeration sales, TKBB asked Mark Swan when Eurolinx was to enter the high end refrigeration market – “you’ll have to wait and see” was the quick answer, however Jamey Colbert added quietly “it’s coming!”

Very much worth a visit, this showroom has a lot to offer the design community – it’s just a case of waiting to see where in Sydney appliance retail land, the product appears.
