Winner: Darren James CKD Au (Darren James Interiors)
KBDi judges: Two projects were submitted: the first was an outstanding example of refined simplicity that met the clients’ brief to a tee. The judges loved the symmetry of the design, and the beautifully balanced material selection. In striking contrast, the designer’s second project was a dramatic recreation of Hollywood Regency style, and its drama took the judges’ breath away.

KBDi judges: The designer presented two extremely well documented kitchen designs in a submission worthy of high commendation: the first a ‘Parisian feel’ masterpiece, and the second was detailed to an exceptional standard.

Winner: Kim Duffin CKD Au, CBD Au (Kim Duffin Design)
KBDi judges: The designer has fashioned a stunning kitchen that easily accommodates multiple cooks and makes gastronomical gatherings a breeze. A unified, achromatic colour scheme oozes style, as layers of grey, silver, concrete and steel allow the warmth of the Rosewood timber and the stunning bush and mountain vistas outside to shine.

KBDi judges: The judges were most impressed with the consideration given to this design: from the exceptional space planning that made the most of a meagre space to the scrupulous specification of materials, fixtures and fittings, the designer’s attention to detail was clear.

KBDi judges: A complex brief for an interactive exhibition display was well met with a practical design layout and appealing aesthetics. Excellent space planning ensured visitors to the stand would get the most out of their visit, and leave with a thorough understanding of the company’s product capabilities.

KBDi judges: The judges were most impressed with the high calibre submission of this first time entrant. An excellent design solution was supported with detailed documentation, making this designer an obvious choice.
