Nebia showerhead

San Francisco start-up Nebia launches the Nebia showerhead that offers 70% in water savings. The showerhead is available now on Kickstarter for US$299 and meets Australian WELS requirements. The company ships to Australia.

Nebia showerhead_1Nebia uses 0.75 gallons (2.8 litres) per minute compared to US industry averages of 2.5 gallons per minute is perfect for US residents looking for products that are eco efficient and save water given the current drought affecting California and surrounding areas. It also makes it perfect for our Australian strict WELS guidelines.

Nebia showerhead_5Philip Winter, Co-founder and CEO says, “We set out to create a better shower experience first and save as much water as possible. It turns out the age-old believe that more water equals a better experience isn’t necessarily true”.

Nebia’s showerhead atomises water into millions of tiny droplets creating a surface area of water 10 times greater than that of a regular shower. Testers claim it provides a new and different experience, but much more refreshing and relaxing.

Nebia showerhead_3In launching the Nebia showerhead, the company partnered with leading industrial design firm Box Clever to create a design that is iconic, elegant and broadly functional yet marks a new era for showerhead design.

Nebia was developed over more than five years. Carlos Gomez Andonaegui, Co-founder, Chairman and Chief Brand Officer, was previously CEO of a major health club in Mexico City when he and his father began tinkering to find a solution to reduce water consumption. Carlos and Philip joined forces and established the company in San Francisco a year later. Soon after, Gabriel Parisi-Amon joined as the third co-founder and CTO/COO.

The company has spent the last 12 months conducting beta testing of the Nebia showerhead with more than 500 users showering at local gyms, businesses and universities.

Nebia showerhead_4Nebia claims use of the showerhead could save 200 billion gallons of water and nearly US$4 billion if all Californians were to switch to a Nebia showerhead. This creates an opportunity for Nebia to introduce a concerned consumer to breakthrough technology.

Nebia’s pre-sale price was launched in November and the full retail price is US$399. Expected delivery is May 2016.
