Famous for drawing inspiration from the everyday things that surround them, the São Paulo-based Campana Brothers’ unique aesthetic is epitomised in a new collection of handmade tiles for Bisazza.

With an organic and highly contemporary feel, the brothers got the idea for this beautiful collection when they became fascinated with colourful, Brazilian Agate stones displayed in a local shop. Found within volcanic rocks, Agate consists of alternating layers of crystalline mineral – an alluring, primitive theme which is captured beautifully in the new collection which includes four colour options.

Fernando and Humberto Campana say about the new pattern: “We wanted to create a dialogue between the layers found in the interior of the rock to compose a colourful and versatile collection that can be applied in a vast array of environments. The richness of Brazil and its immense fortune of crystals petrified in an icon image which became a tile.”

Made entirely by hand, each Bisazza Cementile combines high strength cement with coloured oxides, and is then cold pressed and treated to protect the surface. Available in 27 colours and a vast range of multi-coloured decorations, the collection can be used on the interior walls and floors of residential and commercial projects. Other international designers who have contributed to the range include Tom Dixon, Jaime Hayon and Paola Navone.
