Design Warm Contest

Scirocco H is looking for the radiator designer of the future in this first edition of the Design Warm Contest for students and architects under 40. The price awards up to €5000 and gives the winner the opportunity to see your project come to life and put on the market.

Scirocco H – Snake One

The Design Warm Contest is organized by Scirocco H, an Italian company that specialises in the design and production of radiators, and is dedicated to finding new, talented designers to create innovative designer radiators and towel warmers.

Scirocco H – Mikado

The initiative, created by the Gattico company with the patronage of ADI Association for Industrial Design, is open to all Italian and foreign students attending the faculties of engineering and architecture, as well as graphic and design high schools, as well as architects and other design professionals, provided they were born after January 1st 1977.

Candidates, either singles or in groups, divided into their respective categories – “students” and “architects” – will have to submit, starting September 1st and no later than November 30th 2017, a project which envisages the design of a radiator for domestic use that combines various innovative aspects, both technical and aesthetic ones.

Scirocco H – Brick

“We have left maximum freedom of choice in terms of material to use and functionality,” comments Filippo Arbellia, CEO of Scirocco H. “Just like we did not put any restriction on thermal yields values, although it is assumed that a higher yield would mean more usage and therefore there would be a higher chance of it being produced. In the final evaluation an eye towards the design and, of course, towards technological innovations, also related to the production cycle of the radiator.”

The winner of each of the two categories will be chosen by a jury composed of the management of the company and design and architecture experts and journalists. The prize is a cash prize of €2,000 for the student category and €5,000 for the architects. In addition, if the project is considered valid by the company and worthy of being put into production, a specific agreement that will regulate the economic relationship will be drafted.

The winners of the contest will be announced in January 2018 in Milan during a dedicated ceremony.
