Inspired by the ancient columns of Greece and Italy, these are the stunning new Doric basins from Meek Bathware available in both a basin and pedestal design.
The strong design cues from the Grecian and Italian columns of ancient times are evident in the range’s fluted profile which also highlights the the beauty of the material from which they are crafted.
ECC (engineered cementitious composite) is an ultra high-performance concrete that looks and feels like traditional concrete but offers 300 times the flexibility. It is this product, which has been meticulously manufactured to retain the character of concrete yet provide a luxurious tactile surface, which creates the basin.
The pedestal is created using both CNC and hand work using solid block-staved American oak. The timber is hand sanded and finished with a beautiful acrylic based coating; providing a silky/matte rich finish.
Both basins and pedestals are available in rectangle and round options with the concrete basin available in off-white, mid-grey and charcoal black while the pedestal is available in light oak, burnt oak and ebonised oak.
Developed and made locally in Australia, the basin is designed by Michael Mitris with the pedestal designed by Michael Mitris and Joshua Gullaci.
