HIA SA Kitchen & Bathroom Awards

The HIA South Australian Kitchen & Bathroom Awards were held earlier in the year and recognised excellence in kitchen and bathroom design and construction across the state. And, here are the winners….

Kitchen of the Year

HIA SAWinner: Walls Bros Designer Kitchens & Klemm Homes

Judges’ comments: This project was a combination of beautiful elegant materials and superior workmanship. The curved backdrop with slight venetian render walls and no overheads denotes a warmth whilst giving off a slightly European feel to the space. The oval marble island creates an element of softness to contrast the hard concrete floors but still allowing the island to be its own furniture showpiece in the room. Simply stunning.

Bathroom of the Year

HIA SAWinner: Desyn Homes & Unique Space Co

Judges’ comments: The client brief for this bathroom was “Luxe, Luxe, Luxe” and that has certainly been achieved. Floor to ceiling tiling, LED feature lighting below vanity and around the custom mirrored cabinetry and a gorgeous make-up area. Soft tones with beautiful brushed gold fittings and natural light fill this room. An opulent bathroom perfectly executed with beautiful textures and palette.

Kitchen Design of the Year

HIA SAWinner: Tanik Design

Judges’ comments: A perfect result to a complex design, this kitchen has it all and we were able to see how this designer clearly met her clients wishes. Introducing technology with a lift for plates and small appliances in the centre of the bench to maximise working space and a stunning use of materials, make this kitchen not only functional but also visually beautiful.

Bathroom Design of the Year

HIA SAWinner: Creative Home Renovations

Judges’ comments: Although a small project, this entry packed a delightful punch. Every attention to detail was covered in all aspects of the clients brief in vision, plans, images, and documentation. Using patterned tiling as a feature of the bathroom, the design honoured and complemented the eclectic nature of the home. Working with a tight existing footprint, the illusion of more space was executed in the form of a custom wall to wall mirror, thoughtfully placed wall niches, and LED strip feature lighting throughout. The result – a gorgeous, ambient, and functional bathroom space.
