Holl by Domus Line is a new lighting system that will transform any interior into an ethereal space, creating light sculptures from furniture pieces.
The system is highly flexible and can be applied to a wide range of interiors – residential or commercial – and is designed to be deconstructed within the piece of furniture.
This decomposition is combined with modularity, allowing many different configurations of an object that can be installed in normal or milled grooves or blind holes, with integrated switch or support for surface installation.
Each module can be combined with a standard power supply or light flow and colour temperature control systems to form appealing compositions and, depending on the models, create charming light effects.
The light is distributed by integrating a perimeter light source in a slim luminaire which, in the ‘blind hole’ configuration, dematerialises and leaves the light to trace the shape of the luminaire on its own.
Using parameters similar to those identified by Fibonacci in nature, the user can control not only the brightness, but also the colour temperature with a simple touch, or by voice with remote control systems.
For Domus Line, redesigning the spotlight meant re-inventing perhaps the most famous and popular luminaire on the furniture and furnishings lighting market, definitively overcoming a classic spotlight source by decomposing, deconstructing and disseminating light in rooms through modular forms offering great freedom of composition.
