Fisher & Paykel Lunch with the Designers

As part of its ongoing commitment to the design community, last month Fisher & Paykel held another of its “Lunch with the Designers” at its Sydney Experience Centre.

Specialist kitchen and interior designers were invited to an exclusive luncheon at the Alexandria showroom, hosted by Charlie McDonald, Head of Business Development at Fisher & Paykel Appliances. Designers were given the opportunity to spend time in the showroom and interact with key Fisher & Paykel staff members as well as be treated to a cooking demonstration from in-house chef Constantine Kautz.

Fisher&PaykelFollowing presentations from Charlie and NZ-based Simone Stephens, Chief Designer for Fisher & Paykel Appliances, the designers enjoyed a sumptuous 3-course lunch with matching wines prepared in the showroom by Constantine and his team.

The purpose of the lunch is to allow Fisher & Paykel to engage personally with those in the specification industry to understand their needs and give the design community the opportunity to share their experiences with key decision makers within the company.

Fisher&PaykelAbove all else, Fisher & Paykel is proud of its New Zealand heritage and, as much as the country is shaped by its unique environment, so is the company’s culture of curiosity and way of thinking. Since its foundation in 1934, Fisher & Paykel has always approached its product design with people at the forefront, in recognition that life is lived around its products.

In their presentations, both Charlie and Simone referenced a fast-moving world and today’s ever-changing environment which means Fisher & Paykel is always seeking to create moments of delight in the heart of the home. The driving forces behind the ongoing research and development recognise how our changing world drives what consumers desire from an appliance brand.

With technology radically re-shaping the way we live, human connection and moments of celebration become more important than ever. As urbanisation changes the built environment and healthy living becomes the new luxury, Fisher & Paykel looks to sustainability as the movement of the future.

Fisher & Paykel has a unique design philosophy that seeks to turn routines into rituals and, for this reason, there are five principals which underpin all product development – that they are designed to fit, provide perfect results, are beautiful to use, are built to last, and show respect for the planet.

Fisher & Paykel has had a long history of working in partnership with the kitchen and interior design community and this lunch is the latest in a series of face-to-face events that the company is using to further its communication with specifiers. As a business, Fisher & Paykel understands the value designers can offer in terms of feedback and suggestions, and these relaxed occasions are the perfect opportunity for the industry to provide genuine, constructive opinion on the brand and the experience designers are having with their own customers.

Fisher & Paykel welcomes visitors to its Experience Centre and encourages designers to use the space for meetings with clients and selection sessions. The Experience Centre is located at 90-96 Bourke Road, Alexandria and, for a personalised experience, it’s recommended to make a booking. Cooking classes and demonstrations are also available for designers and clients and can be booked via the website.
