SCIC Labirinto kitchen

SCIC is previewing the Labirinto kitchen in a new chromatic interpretation during the Milan Design Week event, from 6th to 12th June 2022.

SCIC, a specialist in the production of kitchen systems since 1948, will be presenting several designs at the company’s showroom in via Durini 19 during Milano Design Week, from 6 to 12 June.

Labirinto-SCICThe Labirinto kitchen is displayed in its new chromatic and stylistic version at the brand’s historical headquarters: the original design project by Cattaneo Design draws inspiration from the renowned Masone labyrinth, located at the heart of the Emilian plain. This location represents the physical rendering of a dream by Franco Maria Ricci, a unique place of culture in which an impressive bamboo labyrinth is flanked by buildings of neoclassical inspiration.

The aesthetic and stylistic precision characterising this location is reflected in the linearity and neatly chiselled volumes of the Labirinto kitchen, interpreted in simple, unfussy lines with a particular focus on the choice of materials, in which slate-lacquered stainless steel is teamed up with canaletto walnut structures.

The company explores new possibilities of interpretation: the project contemplates a large central island consisting of base cabinets closed by 22mm hinged doors, flanked by open elements profiled in canaletto walnut and fitted with internal lighting.

Labirinto-SCICThe countertop in Labradorite is the key element of the new version of Labirinto. This stone is endowed with a natural metallic iridescence, accentuated by the backlighting of the top which highlights the vitreous sheen and enhances the iridescent reflections thanks to the choice of ground colours ranging from grey to deep blue.

Moreover, the showroom provides the backdrop for an exclusive exhibit: it will be possible for window gazers to admire a work by Carlo Mattioli, a Parma-born artist who stood out on the 20th century art scene. The display is a direct reference to an exhibition titled ‘The lightful fruit’ to be inaugurated in early May at Milan’s Pinacoteca Ambrosiana: the cycle of works in which this Emilian artist probed the poetical aspects of Caravaggio’s paintings will be exhibited.

Aesthetic and material research, together with in-depth technical studies, constitutes the common ground between Carlo Mattioli’s pictorial art and the SCIC design project being presented at the Milano Design Week 2022.
