For Milan Design Week 2023, Euromobil transformed its flagship store in Milan with new designs from Marc Sadler, with his restyling of the SEI kitchen, Roberto Gobbo with the new Antis/Lain composition, and new Cabinet Folding.
The SEI kitchen originated in 2018 and was a result of the first collaboration between Marc Sadler and Euromobil.
It is characterised by the repetition of the number 6 in the thickness of the tops, sides, shelves and accessories. The goal was to create a simple, yet functional, product which was highly customisable.
This year, a natural evolution of the product saw the intrinsic characteristics of the kitchen maintained but an expansion of the compositional range to allow for new modularity and enhancement of its features. SEI is presented in four new materials including matte embossed lacquer, anodized lacquer, sandblasted chestnut wood and natural quartzite Palladium Arte matte finish, as well as an update to the existing Fenix finishes.
Euromobil’s own art director, architect Roberto Gobbo, presented the new Antis/Lain combination which cleverly combined a mix of these two existing kitchen designs. Defined as furniture and architecture that take on the characteristics of architecture, the structure in TSS (Thermo Structured Surface) gives it a statuesque appearance. With Antis front doors made in Canete wood (brown), giving a slight three-dimensional effect both tactilely and visually, paired with Lain columns in a special TSS Turner material (in Sand), the kitchen is particularly durable and scratch resistant.
The kitchen benchtops are in MDI (Minerals Design Innovation) ceramic by Inalco in a bush-hammered Iseo Gris finish, including a new 220mm thick work top with a 12mm thick perimeter to create a frame for the 18mm lowered work area. A sliding snack top uses concealed aluminium runners with a double shock-absorbing opening and closing system.
Euromobil also introduced a new storage system – Cabinet Folding. Cabinet Folding has a structure that allows it to be both a free-standing kitchen as well as accompanied by accessories or tall units to expand the kitchen space.
